Carden Arbor View School Committees

PFO (Parent Faculty Organization) - Its purpose is to lend support for non-curriculum activities and to foster social interaction among the CAVS' internal community. It sponsors the Book Fair, Fall Gala and Halloween Carnival. In the past, this group has worked on issues such as Hot Lunch and the uniform task force.

• Meeting is once a month at 8:00AM

Safety and Facilities Committee - This committee deals with facility and personnel (children and adults) safety issues and concerns. They are responsible to be sure that the school and staff are in compliance with all regulations. They will oversee and monitor the fire, earthquake and disaster plans. Responsibilities include oversight of capital improvement projects, assessing needs of the facilities and grounds for repairs and improvements and developing policy regarding day to day maintenance.

• Meeting is once a month at 8:00AM.

Development Committee - Responsible for any fundraising activities including Arbor View Society Annual Giving (AVS).

• CAPER (Celebrating Achievement, Perseverance, Excellence, and Responsibility)
• Meeting is second Tuesday of the month, 6:30PM in the Library. (CAPER committee meets separately)

Marketing Committee - This committee's purpose is to highlight and promote CAVS to the community. CAVS will no longer be the Inland Valley's best kept secret.

• Cash Back for Schools

Human Resources Committee - Reviews and recommends policies relating to school personnel including recruitment, orientation, training, supervision, salary, benefits and evaluation.

• Meeting is once a month at 8:00AM.

Finance Committee - Responsibilities are to oversee budgeting and monthly financial reports as well as developing the financial plans (current & 5 year). Finance Committee makes recommendations to the Board regarding CAVS finances as well as all capital expenditures. They oversee the investments of the school.

• Meeting is the Wednesday before the Board Meeting at 6:00PM, CAVS Library
