FALL CARNIVAL WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
Thank you to all our volunteers for making this year's carnival a huge success. All your time, talents and efforts were so appreciated. Special thanks to our Carnival Chairperson, Ms. Vanessa Saldana for her many hours of volunteer time coordinating the event, to the Gribble Family for cooking up our delicious burgers and to Mr. Melocotan for taking photos at the photo gallery. LUNCH ORDERS
DUE DATES: Lunch form is due by the due date on the menu after which a $10.00 late fee will apply.
SAME DAY LUNCHES: BEFORE 10 A.M. ARE $10.00. NO SAME DAY LUNCHES AFTER 10 A.M.
EMERGENCY SUSTENANCE LUNCH: An emergency sustenance meal will be provided to your child for a fee of $5.00 which is due the same day. The emergency sustenance meal IS NOT the regular lunch but will consist of adequate servings of the following items: Carrot sticks, celery sticks, fruit, cheese, crackers, juice or milk. Children who come to the office for an emergency sustenance meal will be required to call their parents for permission and it is understood that the meal must be paid for that day. Unpaid emergency sustenance meals will forfeit this service in the future and the parent will be required to bring a lunch to the school for their child.
LUNCHES ARE PRE-PAID ONLY AND WILL NOT BE BILLED.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WITHOUT A LUNCH.

Uniform Dress Code
every Monday is a Required Uniform Day. Standard Dress Days are the the 1st and last Friday of each school month.
Morning Assemblies are Monday and Friday mornings at 7:55 a.m. All parents, families, friends and alumni of CAVS are invited.

New Addition To our
Front Office Staff
We have a new additon in the front office! We'd like to welcome back Mrs. Filpi, parent of a Carden Alum and former employee.
Mrs. Paxton will be working in the front office from 7:30 am -11:45 am and Mrs. Filpi will be in the front office noon to 6:00 pm.
This new change will allow us to better service our families during the entire school day.
Please welcome back Mrs. Filpi. If you have any questions, please contact the front office.

Important Safety Reminder!
Parents: When dropping off or picking up students in the front driveway in the mornings and afternoons, please do not get out of your cars and stop in the driveway! If you need to get out, please park at the park next door and walk your child into the school. Your cooperation in this safety measure is greatly appreciated.

FOR EACH $20 or more receipt brought in between now and December 31, 2011, Carden will receive a $1.00 donation from Fresh & Easy.
It's easy to participate. Just bring in any $20 and above receipt from any Fresh & Easy market into the front office between now and December 31, 2011.

Need to fulfill some parent participation hours? There are several events between now and the end of the 1st Trimester where you can be given credit for volunteering your time. Come into the front office to sign up.

Maura Graber of RSVP Etiquette Classes will begin a series of six classes on Mondays beginning January 9, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 27. If you're interested in signing up your child for etiquette classes , sign up sheets will be available in the front office. Watch for more details in the Call of the Cougar.
