CAVS' Arbor View Society

updated 8/27/2010

Development

Like most independent schools, tuition at Carden Arbor View School does not cover the total costs of education. CAVS relies on development fundraising both from its families and from outside sources to fill the gap between budgeted expenses and desired improvements. Specifically, the monies raised through the 2010/2011 development campaign, with a projected goal of over $100,000, will be directly focused on maintaining, developing and enhancing our 21St Century Classrooms with state of the art teaching technology and will include the following:

  • SMART Board for targeted classrooms and library, laptops, and furniture.
  • Adding further science materials and curriculum and support materials for all classroom.

In addition, monies raised through development fundraising will also contribute to our ongoing Scholarship Program.

There are several ways in which the community provides assistance to the school.

  • Arbor View Society (AVS)is our annual giving campaign. Your participation as an AVS member is the most direct way in which you can support our school community. Monetary donations to AVS are 100% tax-deductible. We anticipate that every family and each faculty member will participate in this year’s annual giving campaign to their level of financial ability. The 100% participation of our CAVS families is essential to reaching our AVS goal of $60,000, which is an average of $500.00 per family.
    • The campaign will move into full gear in October when every family will be individually contacted and encouraged to participate. Enclosed with this letter are a Question & Answer sheet about Arbor View Society and a commitment form. You can help get the campaign off to a strong start by filling out the enclosed pledge sheet (2010-2011 membership Commitment form).
    • Donations can be made by check or credit card (Visa/MC/Discover). Either drop your donation off at the office or mail to Carden Arbor View School Development, 1530 N. San Antonio Avenue, Upland, CA 91786. If you wish to make a pledge for a future donation, print out a pledge form and mail it to the school address or call the office for a pledge packet.
  • CAPER, The 11th Annual CAPER event will be held at the historic Pierre Biane Winery in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Join us for an evening under the stars and in the rustic winery led by Mrs. Lea Biane who will be Chairperson of this lovely event. Dinner/Dancing and Live & Silent Auctions will tempt you to “Save the Date” of Saturday, April 2, 2011 @ 6:00 pm.
  • Various scrip and rebate programs allow individuals to make a contribution to CAVS without taking a direct hit on their wallets. These programs take various forms but typically involve vendors who make donations to the school in response to your purchases from them. For example, Lands' End donates back to CAVS 3% of purchases from its school catalog when parents mention our school at the time of ordering. There are a number of these rebate programs in place. Whether you shop at Albertsons, Vons, or Ralphs, there's a painless scrip program that returns significant dividends to the school.

We are enormously grateful for the support we receive from our extended community.

If you have any questions regarding the development program at CAVS or would like to be included in the invitation list for the CAPER, please email Terri DiMarco, Director of Development or call the office at (909) 982-9919.
