• Laptops, overhead projectors, SMART boards, iMac computers, proscopes and science equipment, and behind the scenes upgrades to our school’s infrastructure. There are several ways in which the community provides assistance to the school. Arbor
View Society (AVS)is Carden’s “official” annual giving campaign. Like other private
schools, Carden relies on annual giving to support expenses not covered by the costs of tuition. Look to the south of the campus as our grade schoolers enjoy the colorful and creative playground environment. This, along with the renovated science lab, iMac computers, SMART boards, and EDLINE are just a few of numerous enhancements that generous contributions have allowed.
•100% Participation is our goal! This year our goal is to encourage 100% participation from our Board of Trustees, families, faculty and raise $75,000 from our AVS campaign. We anticipate that each will give to their level of financial ability. The 100% participation of our CAVS families is to reach our goal of $75,000 which is an average of $500 per family. 100% participation demonstrates school community support and could mean the difference between funding a future project or not. • The AVS annual campaign will launch in September at Back to School Nights and continue throughout the month of October when every family will be individually contacted and encouraged to participate and fill out a pledge form. Each classroom has a volunteer AVS Grade Level Chair and will be available to answer questions about AVS and pick up your pledge form. • Monetary donations to AVS are 100% tax-deductible. Donations may be made by check or credit card (Visa/MC/Discover). Either drop your donation off at the front office in a provided AVS envelope or mail your donation to: Carden Arbor View School School Development, 1530 N. San Antonio Avenue, Upland, Ca 91786. If you wish to make a pledge for a future donation, print out a pledge form and mail it to the school address or call the office for a pledge packet. Pledges are welcome at any level that are comfortable for your family.
• Did you know? While it may seem like tuition should cover all expenses, in the arena of private schools, it simply does not. Annual giving programs provide the wonderful extras that help enrich your child’s educational experience, as well as replenish reserves.
SAVE THE DATE! The 12th Annual CAPER event will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The location to be announced in the fall. CAPER is our annual event benefitting the students at Carden Arbor View School. This CAPER event Celebrates the Achievements, Perseverance, Excellence and Responsibility of the students attending Carden Arbor View School. It is only through the contribution of community minded friends, and parents like you that we were able to raise more than $40,000 at last year’s event! We hope that we can count on your support to build on our past success. Carden Arbor View School is a kindergarten through eighth grade, private, non-sectarian school serving families of the Inland Valley. The Carden teaching method addresses the needs of the whole child—weaving an education designed to prepare children for life throughout the core academic curriculum. We place equal emphasis on the need for that education to be presented within a physical and spiritual context of high moral standards and values. CAPER, Carden Arbor View School’s annual fund raising event plays a vital role in the operations of the school. Your donated gift-in-kind item can be placed in either the silent or live auction. Proceeds from the event will be allocated toward student and campus projects. We rely on the generosity of our families and community for additional support, to aid us in our quest to provide an exceptional moral and academic education for our most valuable resource—our children. You can help make the annual CAPER event a success by becoming a sponsor, donating cash, a gift certificate, or an item or service for the silent or live auction. For information about this important annual event, please contact Ms. DiMarco in the Development office or email to tdimarco@cardenarborview.org Various scrip
and rebate programs allow individuals to make a contribution to CAVS without making cash donations. These programs take various forms but typically involve vendors who make donations to the school in response to your purchases from their company. For example, Lands’ End donates back to CAVS , Fresh & Easy provides Shop for Your School Nights and gives back a percentage of proceeds to our school. E Scrip supports kids staying healthy and donates 10% back to Carden Arbor View School. All it takes on the parent’s part is a few moments time to go on line sign up at www.escrip.com, follow the instructions to register your grocery cards and your existing credit/debit cards that apply. It’s easy, free and very powerful for our school. Some of the participating merchants are Vons, Pavilions Market, Bristol Farms, Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ, American Airlines and more. Logo on to www.escrip to register and support Carden Arbor View School. Last year we purchased sports equipment for our new archery club! Shop for Schools program has raised over $1.3 million for local schools. During 2010-11, CAVS earned over $700 through the Shop for Schools program. Carden families collected grocery receipts valued at $20 or more and the school received $1.00 donation from Fresh & Easy. Thank you to all the families, staff and Board of Trustees who brought in their receipts by December 2011. We appreciate your support!
