- FEBRUARY 2008 - Diaper Drive - CAVS' Students collected over 9,000 diapers

DECEMBER 2007 - CAVS Students collected hundreds of toys for the Upland
Fire Department for needy children at Christmas.

Foothill Family Shelter
MAY 2007 - CAVS students had a 2-week diaper drive for Foothill Family
Shelter in Upland and collected 11,325 diapers! CAVS
students had a contest between lower grades and middle school and Eighth
Grade won over all and Fifth Grade won in the lower grades.

World Services February 2007 - CAVS students collected $700 to give
to Church World Services TOOLS AND BLANKETS program.

Spark of Love, Toy Drive
- 2004 Carden Students collected toys for the Upland Fire Department for
needy children at Christmas.
• SimCity
2004 Team - Future City Competition 2003-2004.

Jump
Rope for Heart, 2003 - Thanks to the generosity of CAVS families and
friends, a record $8,265.99 was raised for the American Heart Association.
Walk
On the Freeway - In 2002 our school participated in a Walkathon celebrating
the opening of the new 210 FWY. The students raised $6,650 that was spent
on a LCD projector, iBook lap top, and sports equipment.
• Jump
Rope for Heart, 2001 - Our first year for this event, and the students
raised $6,200 for the American Heart Association.
• Service
Learning - 2000 - The entire school participated in an effort collecting
vegetable seeds to send to the Empowering
Lives Training Center near Eldoret, Kenya, and surrounding villages
to help combat the devastating effects of drought and poverty. Over 1,500
packets of seeds were collected and presented to Samuel Tiemuge of Kenya
and Don Rogers of the United States, both directors of Empowering
Lives.

2000 - Shoe
Sale for Kenya Village - Carden Arbor View School students tackled
a global awareness project with joy and enthusiasm. "Make a Difference
in the Lives of Others." The project was a pre-owned
shoe sale to raise money to be sent to Kenya to purchase shoes for
villagers who do not have them.
