Throughout the year, committees and task forces meet to lend support for non-curriculum activities which foster social interaction among the CAVS' internal community. These volunteer committees meet to support school events and various school operations. As task forces are formed, announcements of meeting times will be made for parent and community participation.
Advancement/Development Committee
In a fun-filled collaborative environment, members will work closely with the Director of Advancement to assist in creating strategies for fundraising, marketing, and event planning for the school. The Advancement Committee uses event committees for community event planning.
Event Committees:
- Fall Gala - All Carden Arbor View School families, new and returning, are invited to celebrate the start of a new school year at this cheerful event. Committee members will plan the night’s theme and entertainment for all to enjoy.
- Fall Carnival - Conducted by each grade and staffed with parent volunteers, activity booths with tricks and treats are open to all the afternoon of Halloween, or the Friday preceding Halloween weekend. Committee members help room parents and volunteers with supplies and design.
- Book Fair- Preceding our Family Day event in the spring, the annual book fair will take place on campus over the span of one week. Committee members will coordinate schedules to staff and stock the bookfair.
- CAPER - Our annual fundraising event invites community members 21+ to enjoy a theme filled evening with dinner and dancing. As advancement’s most time demanding committee, members will plan this event in its entirety.
Safety and Facilities Committee
This committee evaluates safety issues and concerns. Members will oversee and monitor the fire, earthquake, and disaster plans. Responsibilities include reviewing the needs of the facilities and grounds for repairs, support in developing safety policies, and feedback.
Risk Management Committee
Members of this committee assess the risk exposure of the school and make recommendations to the board to help reduce liability through school policies and procedures. Members will review forms and agreements for accuracy and compliance while working closely with the safety and facilities committee.
Finance Committee
The Finance Committee monitors the fiscal health of the school by reviewing financial statements on a bi-monthly basis. The committee assists the Director of Business services in creation of budgets, reviews the investment portfolio, and assists with long range financial planning.
