True to our mission of providing the highest quality education of the whole child and in support of the school's vision to offer each student the opportunity to reach their highest potential, Carden Arbor View School's Cougar PAUSE program is designed to support students whose individual learning needs are best served outside of our traditional classroom environment.
Working in collaboration with West End SELPA, Upland School District professionals, and local private agencies, Carden Arbor View School educators and paraeducators will facilitate an integrative program specifically designed to incorporate the students' Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and CAVS' grade level academic and developmental objectives.
Based on an ISP or a student support plan (SSP), the PAUSE program may include all or some of the following:
- Coordinate reviews and updates of ISP
- Create and implement SSP
- Monitor SSP
- Collaboration between staff, educators, paraeducators, parents, and specialists
- Provide advocacy and progress reports
- Coordinate student accommodations regarding test taking, alternate testing environment, lecture notes, etc.
The fee schedule for Cougar PAUSE services is based upon the number of PAUSE instructional hours a student requires and is not included in regular tuition.
The number of hours needed is arrived at through the psychoeducational evaluation assessment and identification process. Parents, administrators, and educators are involved in the identification process and all parties must be in agreement as to the specific services a student will receive.
