After School Activities
At Carden Arbor View School, learning and growth continue long after the final bell rings. Our After-School Activities Program is thoughtfully designed to provide students with meaningful opportunities to explore interests, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships in a supportive and engaging environment.

Variety of programs for well-rounded students
We offer a range of after school programs and extracurriculars, taught by our Carden teachers and community members whom students know and love.
Robotics
Robotics plays a powerful role in elementary education because it brings learning to life in a hands-on, meaningful way. Through building and programming robots, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they test ideas, troubleshoot challenges, and learn from mistakes.
Working in teams, students practice sharing ideas, listening to others, and taking on leadership roles — social and academic skills that prepare them for future STEM learning and for success in school and beyond.

Sports Programs
Our after-school sports give 5th through 8th grade students a place to build coordination, teamwork, and confidence while staying active. Coaches focus on fundamentals, good sportsmanship, and the joy of play.
From seasonal team sports to skills clinics, students of every level find an opportunity to grow, compete, and cheer each other on.

Debate
Debate sharpens the skills that carry students through every subject: research, reasoning, listening, and clear, confident speaking. Students learn to build an argument, weigh evidence, and respond with poise.
In a supportive setting, debaters discover their voice and the value of considering more than one side of an idea.

Musical Theater
Our musical program lets students explore performance, rhythm, and expression — on stage and behind the scenes. Rehearsals build discipline, memory, and the thrill of creating something together.
Whether singing, acting, or producing behind the scenes, students gain confidence and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Our musical theater program is available to students in grades K–8.

World Languages
Language study opens students to new cultures and ways of thinking. Our after-school world-languages offering extends the French and Spanish foundation of the school day into a relaxed, conversational setting.
Through stories, games, and conversation, students build vocabulary and an early ear for fluency.
Child Care
Before & After School Child Care
CAVS provides child care services to enrolled students before school beginning at 6:30 a.m. and after school until 6:30 p.m. We offer a variety of payment plans and rates to accommodate the needs of our families.
Care is supervised by Carden staff in a safe, familiar environment, with time for homework, play, and rest.
